Memphis, TN – Memphis based Sound Waves is definitely a Pioneer Sound Build Off veteran. Mike Irwin told 12voltnews.com “We competed in the initial Build Off and finished just out of the money, but it was a great learning experience.  We skipped a year and then finished in 2nd place last year in Long Beach. We are putting all that experience into our ’07 Yukon project for this year’ Build Off 4.0.

The interior of the Sound Waves’ lowered Yukon was virtually stripped to the bare metal. The installation team of John Irwin, Travis Williams, Mike McHughes  and Alex Barger wanted as much real estate as possible to showcase the Stage 4 products and concentrate on the sound quality portion of the competition. John Irwin and Williams are handling most of the installation while Barger and McHughes add design input and creativity. As with all build projects everyone lends a helping hand at some point in the process. Stinger Road Kill, wiring, distribution and accessories were utilized in the Sound Waves’ build.

All door panels, plus the rear hatch, have received extensive fiberglass treatment and will be highlighted with Sound Waves/Pioneer logos. Suede headliner and accents complement the leather interior. Interior dash and door parts along with wheels were painted to match the Yukon’s exterior.  Accent lighting elements will make the Yukon stand out on the Build Off floor in La Quinta and in the Sound Waves’ showroom after the upcoming Pioneer event.

The Sound Waves’ 1971 Karmann Ghia placed 2nd in Pioneer’s Sound Build Off 3.0. Over the past 10 months the vehicle has been on display at various festivals and car shows in the Memphis area. Most of the time the classic Karmann Ghia has been “garaged” as an eye-catching demo on the Sound Waves’ showroom floor.

Irwin commented “Having the Karmann Ghia in our showroom, with the big cup from last year’s Build Off, gets a lot of attention and demonstrates to our customers that our staff possesses a tremendous amount of talent and expertise.  Last week, while looking at a current Sound Waves’ project a customer commented, ‘This looks like something out of Pimp My Ride.’ “.

Concluding Irwin said “Pioneer’s Stage 4 marketing strategy, culminating with the Stage 4 product, is easy for our customers to grasp. Using the Fitguide can give our customers a great visual of their dream system in their vehicle. Its a great tool”.

All the best to the SoundWaves team at Pioneer’s Sound Build Off 4.0 from 12voltnews.com.
