ERIE, PA (08.03.2016) – Custom Audio’s annual Shake the Lake MECA event, Sunday, July 31st, packed the retailer’s center parking lot.
Sondralee Orengia, Custom Audio owner, stated, “We had well over 60 competitors in the MECA lanes. Spectators filled the store’s parking lot throughout the event and checked out the action in front of the store. I think this event was our largest to date and probably 25% larger than last year.”
MECA Commish Steve Stern relayed to 12voltnews.com “The annual Shake The Lake event in Erie at Custom Audio is one of our most popular club get-togethers. Sondralee is the prototype industry leader who understands the importance of cost-effective promotion for her business. For Custom Audio, and the brands they feature, this event creates excitement in the marketplace which leads to sales. Custom Audio is a 2-time MECA Retailer of the Year, recognizing outstanding participation and service for our members at all levels.”
Geoff Schneider, MECA Event Director on site, commented “The Shake the Lake event was terrific. We handed out over 80 score sheets and had a very smooth event. The competitors were very excited to show their systems to a packed parking lot of spectators. I cover the Ohio and Pennsylvania area for MECA and the Custom Audio is an event that all in the area look forward to each year.”
“Recently, I have noticed an uptick of younger car audio customers in the store. I think they appreciate our knowledgable staff, demonstration capabilities and providing information for their systems. We promoted this event almost entirely through social media and that drew a younger crowd to see and experience the great cars in the MECA lanes.”
Custom Audio, as a company stresses, buying local and connecting with area consumers and organizations. A portion of the revenue generated from MECA event was donated to local Anna Animal Shelter.
