SAN JOSE, CA (06.23.2016) – Area MECA competitors rolled into the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds midday Saturday, June 18th. After an afternoon and evening in the lanes another successful California MECA event was in the books.
“It was another great event in sunny California. Being on site, as part of a huge HIN event, is great exposure for car audio in the import car world,” Richard Papasin related to 12votnews.com. Continuing, Papasin offered, “Nearly 400 vehicles rolled into the Fairgrounds. MECA SPL and SQ events were open for club members. The quality of club member installations is on the rise and competitors were excited for all to see their creations.”
MECA Commish Steve Stern related, “This year is strong in California. Linda Kobayashi and Richard Papasin represented MECA in Las Vegas at CES2016. They definitely have a passion for car audio as award winning MECA competitors themselves. Dealers hosting events this year have noted events in their parking lots have created visibility for their stores and led to nice business.”
Florence, AL dealer Audio X, as noted in a previous 12voltnews.com post, scored two major jobs as a result of the companies recent MECA event. Four 18’s in a Tahoe were in order for a SPL competitor while the $6K+ job in a FJ Cruiser was slanted to SQ.
The Santa Clara HIN was the second partnership between HIN and MECA in 2016. The first HIN/MECA partnership in 2016 was in Manila, Philippines.
