ERIE, PA (05.30.2015) – It’s Top Down and Volume up at Custom Audio for the summer of 2015. A major Custom Audio summer event is the company’s Shake the Lake MECA competition.

Sondralee Orengia, Custom Audio owner and proactive retailer, stated to 12voltnews.com, “We plan our events months in advance which gives us the opportunity to do a number of things building up to the event. The Shake the Lake with MECA has been building over the years and we were looking for ways to highlight the July 26th event. Hosting a Q&A event, with MECA Commish Steve Stern via Skype, to answer questions for area competitors seemed like a unique opportunity. I called Steve and he said yes immediately.”

The MECA competitor Skype event took place on Wednesday evening May 27th. Over a dozen area MECA members and enthusiasts were present at the Custom Audio location on West Ridge Road in Erie.

Custom Audio is a home theater retailer also and has a number of flat screens on display.

Continuing, Orengia commented, “We had not utilized Skype to host this type of meeting before. The LG smart flat screens have a camera built in so that make the logistics fairly simple.”

Following the Skype event Commish Stern related to 12voltnews.com, “The meeting were very well. We went over SQL listening objectives and SPL classing questions. There was an emphasis on quality installations that sound and look great but are safe. Sondralee is a super MECA supporter and always comes up with great new ideas to promote her business and the 12volt industry as a whole.”

Concluding, Orengia noted, “It was great to see competitors engage with Steve and get their questions answered and listen to suggestions. We got positive comments from competitors who attended the Skype presentation with Steve. Having over a dozen active competitors in our store on a Wednesday evening was terrific. We feel the 2015 Shake the Lake MECA event on Sunday, July 26th, will be our best yet.”
