LAS VEGAS, NV (01.08.2014) – JVC Mobile Entertainment, the premier developer and manufacturer of sophisticated mobile, audio, and video products, today introduced seven new in-dash receivers in its multimedia product line-up. Two new receivers will support display for both iPhone 5 and MHL-based Android smartphones while all receivers support 20 apps for iPhone 4 and 4s including navigation services such as MotionX-GPS Drive and Waze. All new Multimedia receivers are SiriusXM-Ready and compatible with the SXV200 SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner Kit (sold separately, SiriusXM subscription required) as well as Dual Zone capable which allows both rear seat and front seat passengers to view different content sources. Bluetooth models support hands-free phone calls and wireless music streaming, as well as one push voice dialing, POI search, music cueing, and other phone function controls via Siri Eyes-Free-Mode for supported iOS devices and via voice command for compatible smartphones.
Utilizing Mobile High Definition Link (MHL) Technology, users can choose from two new HDMI-based receivers supporting a connection of compatible Android smartphones to see visual app contents on screen. Once connected via an optional cable, phones simply plug in then display menu and active app contents on the in-dash receiver display. The breadth of MHL supported devices is expanding at an increasing rate where MHL is currently a standard feature on more than 120 popular smartphones and portable devices available in the market.
Display of iPhone 5 apps is now possible on Multimedia HDMI receivers via Apple’s Lightning Digital AV adapter (sold separately) connected to a standard HDMI cable. Users can also add phone charging capability using the Apple Lightning to USB cable which comes with their phone. iPhone 4 and 4s users can control compatible apps as well via JVC’s optional KS-U59 30-pin adapter at an MSRP of $39.95. Optional automotive grade KS-U60 HDMI and KS-U62 charging cables for iPhone 5 connection will be offered at a MSRP of $29.95 and $44.95.
Pandora Internet Radio control is available on all seven models while operation of the iHeart Radio by Clear Channel app via the receiver keys is available on two new high-end models. Both Pandora and iHeart Radio by Clear Channel are supported via an iPhone Bluetooth or USB connection (depending on receiver and connected device) allowing the user to access key functions such as: station selection, play, pause, and new custom station creation from the receiver’s controls. Android users can utilize these features on receivers equipped with Bluetooth wireless technology. While listening, Multimedia receivers show on-screen album artwork from the song or station which is currently playing.
New SiriusXM features for two high-end multimedia models include Smart Favorites, TuneStart and TuneScan capabilities when connected to the SXV200 SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner Kit (sold separately, SiriusXM subscription required). Smart Favorites allow the user to Pause, Rewind and Replay up to 30 minutes of a missed a portion of a news, talk, music or sports segment from any of their current 6 preset stations. Songs can be started from the beginning when users tune to any Smart Favorite music channel using the TuneStart feature. Scan and select songs on Smart Favorite music channels with TuneScan.
The KW-V50BT Multimedia DVD/CD/USB Receiver with HDMI features a 7-inch fully motorized variable color WVGA display, Built-in Bluetooth Wireless Technology, rear USB port with 2-way iPod control and App Link Mode feature. App Link Mode allows on-screen display and control of 20 compatible apps via a connected iPhone 4 or 4s. It is compatible with both MHL or HDMI-based cell phones and iPhone 5 devices via optional accessories and also features a fully-customizable tile-based GUI with variable colors, fonts, and layout capability. It is SiriusXM-Ready, compatible with Pandora Internet Radio and iHeart Radio, and also features 4 Volt Front, Rear, and Subwoofer Line Outputs. The receiver will be shipping in April at a MSRP of $599.95.
The KW-V30BT Multimedia/DVD/CD/USB Receiver with HDMI will be available as a 6.1” WVGA monitor version with rotary volume control dial and front AUX input jack. It will also be shipping in March at an MSRP of $529.95.
The KW-V40BT Multimedia/DVD/CD/USB Receiver features a 7-inch fully motorized WVGA display, Built-in Bluetooth Wireless Technology, rear USB port with 2-way iPod control and App Link Mode feature. App Link Mode allows on-screen display and control of 20 compatible apps via a connected iPhone 4 or 4s. It is SiriusXM-Ready and also features 4 Volt Front, Rear, and Subwoofer Line Outputs. The receiver will be shipping this month at a MSRP of $499.95.
The KW-V20BT Multimedia/DVD/CD/USB Receiver will be available as a 6.1” WVGA monitor version with rotary volume control dial and front AUX input jack. It will also be shipping in January at an MSRP of $399.95.
A similarly featured KW-V10 Multimedia/DVD/CD/USB Receiver without Bluetooth will also be available in January at an MSRP of $349.95. App Link Mode for iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s will be made possible via a new KS-U59 optional accessory cable which will be compatible with both receivers at a MSRP of $39.95, shipping in January.
