LAS VEGAS, NV (01.06.2014) – Dual Electronics Corporation announced today the launch of 6 new Axxera-branded in-vehicle audio/video headunits, including 4 DVD multimedia and 2 CD receivers. The new headunit lineup includes Axxera’s first multimedia receiver with a detachable 10.1” LCD. Other key features include Motion Control, HDMI/MHL connectivity for Android and Apple devices, built-in Bluetooth and Pandora Internet Radio connectivity for the iPhone. All receivers will ship in Q1 of this year, and all will be on display during the 2014 International CES in Booth 709 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“Three years since the introduction of the Axxera brand for the 12V specialist market, we continue to expand the line with quality, connectivity and performance driven features,” said Jim Braun, President and CEO, Dual Electronics Corp. “The new receivers strategically complement the new line of 21 high-quality amplifiers and speakers we are now shipping,” added Braun.
The flagship AV1014BH (MSRP $479.99) DVD multimedia receiver boasts the largest display in the Axxera lineup: a 10.1” digital LED backlit high-definition screen. It also features built-in Bluetooth and DualMirror™ technology for Apple and Android smartphones. The DualMirror™ feature allows the user to mirror the screen of an HDMI-connected Android or Apple smartphone onto the receiver’s larger screen. In addition to the AV1014BH model, the DualMirror™ technology is also available in the AV614BH (MSRP $299.99) and AV714BH (MSRP $299.99) multimedia receivers.
All four new multimedia units, including the AV604Bi (MSRP $279.99), feature built-in Bluetooth technology. All models also boast brand new, intuitive and colorful GUIs. Large icons for all of the most often used functions appear right on the main screen for easy access with no distraction.
The two new CD receivers: the AC504BiM (MSRP $159.99) and AC404iM (MSRP $139.99) each feature the Motion Control technology, which allows the user to control the most often used functions with simple hand gestures: play/pause, tune, track and volume up/down. The control for Pandora Internet Radio app is available for the iPhone connected via USB – the user can give tracks “thumbs up/down”, bookmark a song for purchase, and switch between personalized radio stations. Direct USB control for iPod®/iPhone® devices is available via the USB inputs on the front of the receivers. The built-in Bluetooth technology with support for hands-free calling, audio streaming and player control profiles (HFP, A2DP & AVRCP) comes in the flagship AC504BiM model.
Both units boast large, extra wide 3.7” x 0.75” LCDs, which are over 50% larger than Axxera traditional LCD (2.24” x 0.6”).
The introduction of 6 new in-dash receivers completes the 2014 line expansion, which also includes 14 state-of-the art amplifiers, 7 subwoofers and speakers, a wireless smart EQ processor for Android and Apple smartphones, plus 3 rear seat entertainment monitors. All Axxera products are backed by a 2-year warranty if purchased and installed by an authorized Axxera dealer.
