NORTH ANDOVER, MA (12.24.2013) – The Mobile Electronics Retailers Association has announced that its annual KnowledgeFest event will move from its previous location to the Hilton Anatole hotel and conference center in downtown Dallas. The move allows MERA to enhance the value of the three-day event while making it more accessible and cost-effective for attendees.
KnowledgeFest will run August 16-19. The event consists of educational and informational tracks designed to boost the productivity, expertise and revenue of specialist mobile electronics retailers. Each session is optimized to appeal to and improve the performance of staff members in specific areas, including installation, sales and management. In addition, KnowledgeFest features a centralized exhibition area where industry vendors demonstrate new products, showcase demo vehicles and spend one-on-one time with retailers and installers. Exhibitors also hold brand-specific training sessions after seminar hours to better acquaint retailers with specific aspects of their products.
“We knew that, when considering new venues for our event, we wanted to stay in or around Dallas,” said MERA President Chris Cook. “Since we moved KnowledgeFest here in 2011, attendees and exhibitors have told us they like the central location and transportation options. The move to the Hilton Anatole gives us a more versatile location with rooms priced to allow more retail professionals to attend, while staying with the Dallas locale.”
KnowledgeFest will also be the venue for the Mobile Electronics Industry Awards, in which premier retail establishments and installation technicians and fabricators are honored in front of their peers. The awards culminate a months-long process in which winners are chosen through a series of nominations, voting and submissions judging.
Registration for KnowledgeFest opens in February. Exact dates, as well as ongoing information on education tracks, seminars and exhibitors, can be found on the show–specific website, knowledgefest.org. Vendors interested in exhibiting at KnowledgeFest can contact MERA at (800) 949-6372. MERA will also announce a call for speakers in January.
“As with every year, we strive to make this upcoming KnowledgeFest our best ever, but not only in terms of attendance,” added Cook. “The quality and impact of the topics we teach have to mirror the issues our retailers and installers face today, and give them ammunition to make an immediate and positive change upon return to their stores. Also, KnowledgeFest has to continue to be a place where attendees can network, share ideas and make new friends. This is and always will be its most valued attribute.”
