LEBANON, TN (12.22.2013) – An active December 15th MECA sound off event in Lebanon TN included a very successful “Toys For Tots” initiative.
“The James E Ward Ag Center in Lebanon was filled on Sunday, December 15th. MECA competitors turned out to compete and bring donations for the local Christmas ‘Toys For Tots’ drive. Chris Gregory – Team Wall Street – coordinated the activities,” MECA Commish Steve Stern commented to 12voltnews.com.
Gregory stated, “We work with a number of charity events throughout the year. This was our first “Toys For Tots’ and it was amazing. We filled the bed on my S-10 with toys – over 80 by the end of the day. In addition we received $340. in cash from MECA competitors and spectators. Toys for Tots does not accept cash donations. We went to WalMart and filled 3 buggies with toys. The folks at Toys For Tots were overjoyed when everything was delivered. It’s so good to help area charities and the MECA organization totally supports our efforts.”
SQL Best of Show went to Kevin Keen (PHD). SPL Best of Show went to Anthony Caldwell (XFL/Soundstream/XS Power).
PHD Audio received the MECA SQ award for 2013.
“Closing 2013 on a high note by supporting charity events is very positive. In addition to the ‘Toys For Tots’ initiative in Lebanon, MECA directors had similar events in Nevada and California. At MECA we are looking for a strong event schedule in 2014.”
