CLEARWATER,FL & SANTA ANA, CA (10.24.2013) – Pacific Accessory Corporation – the industry leader in OEM integration and mobile electronics interfaces – today introduced the latest addition to its RadioPRO 5 line of all-in-one radio replacement/steering wheel control integration kits: the RP5-GM51. Created to interface seamlessly with 29-bit GM LAN v2 data bus radios with 16 and 20-Pin harnesses found in the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, the RP5-GM51 retains premium factory safety and convenience features like OnStar, parking assistance and steering wheel controls (SWC). Even better, it works right out of the box with most aftermarket head units and retains SWC without additional programming.
Alpine (www.alpine-usa.com) will be utilizing the RP5-GM51 in their demo vehicle at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas on November 5 – 8. The RP5-GM51 will begin shipping from all PAC warehouses in North America on or before October 30, and MSRP for the RP5-GM51 will be $229.95.
The first interface of its kind on the market, the RP5-GM51 allows an installer to quickly and easily replace the OEM radios in the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 featuring 29-bit GM LAN v2 databus and 16 and 20-pin connectors.
Additional features include:
- Retains factory features such as OnStar, Bluetooth, front and rear parking assistance
- Data controlled outputs for connection to an aftermarket navigation radio
- Vehicle speed sense, reverse and emergency brake status output wires
- Data controlled retained accessory output (RAP)
- Retention of safety and warning chimes
- Keeps vehicle data-bus intact for service
- Antenna adaptor included
As with all RadioPRO solutions, there is no SWC programming required, and the unit’s firmware can be easily updated at www.pac-audio.com using a PAC-UP USB adapter.
According to Brett Riggs, Vice President of Engineering for PAC parent company, AAMP of America, “There are two reasons why we are so excited to be unveiling the RP5-GM51 today. The first is that the RP5-GM51 is the first radio replacement and premium feature retention kit on the market for the 2014 Silverado and Sierra. The other is that it truly makes installing an aftermarket head unit – even highly advanced head units with navigation and video features – as hassle-free as possible. The wiring harnesses are plug-and-play, the RP5-GM51 module comes pre-programmed, and it retains a slew of valuable OEM premium features – most notably OnStar and parking assistance – without any extra hardware. Plus, it’s a true all-in-one kit that combines the features of a radio replacement module and SWC interface in one, so dealers can keep inventory low and cut costs.”
Best Kits & Harnesses (also a part of AAMP of America) will soon be introducing the BKGMK325, a dash replacement kit designed to facilitate installation of the RP5-GM51.
