THE GAYLORD TEXAN, GRAPEVINE TX (08.18.2013) – KnowledgeFest 2013 Day One is in the books. Highlights of Day One included a standing room only audience at the elettromedia-usa gathering that included new product introductions – think Primo – along with real world OEM installation solutions plus selling tips and tricks. Larry Penn and Jason Digos know their “stuff” and made excellent presentations.
Director or Sales Rob Wempe commented to 12voltnews.com “The Fort Worth room was packed and I counted 110 in the room. elettromedia-usa has great technology, makes great product and importantly we work with our dealer base to assure product sell through and thus happy customers for said dealer base.”
Exhibitors completed setup on the show floor in preparation of the 3 PM exhibit hall preview. At 3:00 the doors opened and a good number of dealers, reps and distributor staff made their way through the aisles. The remote starter category is positioned in one area of the floor and attracted an immediate crowd preparing for the upcoming season. Dealers were attracted to the cool bikes in the Memphis booth, the broad range of interface solutions in the CRUX booth as well as the Sony booth – talk MirrorLink. From time to time Rockford’s Mini Sound Lab and WetSound’s ski rig would blast a very loud “Welcome to KnowledgeFest” across the show floor – LOUD.
The Mobile Solutions Installer Olympics drew a steady stream of installation pros to test their skills against the challenges prepared by Bryan Schmitt and staff. Great concept that is engaging and educational too.

A 5PM reception, sponsored by Revenew, was a great networking opportunity. Friends, coworkers and friendly competitors from across the U.S., and around the world, shared some Texas sized refreshment prior to the Town Hall meeting.
The Town Hall, chaired by MERA’s Chris Cook, gave those in the audience a look at the industry “numbers”. A panel discussion followed. The consensus of the panel members was the economy has steadied and there are definitely opportunities for business owners who truly invest in their businesses – along with adding value for the consuming public. When opened for questions from the audience spirited exchanges followed as retailers asked probing questions about product reliability and distribution patterns in the marketplace.
12voltnews.com was on site and posted a number of 12voltBites from the events of the day. Those 12voltBites added audio headlines and narrative to Instagram image posts.
A big 12voltnews.com “thanks you” to many for the positive comments regarding the weekend 12voltToons and for reenforcing and embracing the “Let’s Get Our Shine On” that appears as a recurring 12voltnews.com theme.
