Gus Vaughn Memorial SPL Contest

ohio generator flyerCANTON, OH (04.11.2013) – April 20th is the date set for the Gus Vaughn Memorial SPL Contest to beheld at Horizon Audio in Canton, OH.

“We have been trying to put this together for some time. Now everything has come together. There is a terrific amount of interest in the area and we could have over 100 competitors at the event for Gus” Tom Eliopoulus commented to 12voltnews.com. “Gus was a best friend and worked closely with me here at Ohio Generator. It was such a shock when he left us – and so suddenly” Eliopoulus added.

This plaque was created to honor Gus Vaughn.

The Gus Vaughn Memorial event is set to feature DB Drag Racing, IASCA, MECA and USACi competition formats.

The Horizon Audio, Wipple location, will be the event site. Scott Ackerman and team have arranged for tables, port-o-lets, and other items needed for a store level SPL event. Corbin LaMonica said “This event is certainly for a worth cause and we are all looking to honor Gus at this event.”

Sam Horn, the newly appointed DB Drag Racing Commissioner stated to 12voltnews.com “I worked closely with Gus years back. At DB Drag Racing we are working to reenergize store level events. We have some exciting new “twists” in place to introduce competitors in the lanes. Our plan is to utilize some of this exciting new technology at the Gus Vaughn event.”

“Gus helped us get all this started over 20 years ago. This SPL event will honor his memory and provide a helping hand for his family members” Eliopoulus concluded.

An after event party is planned at the nearby Quaker Steak and Lube with members Team 420 scheduled to attend.
