Texas Showdown Houston 2012

This scene from the main stage at the Texas Showdown event shows a busy Saturday afternoon.

HOUSTON, TX (06.19.12) – The 2012 Texas Showdown brought a new kind of excitement to the Sam Houston Race Park. Hundreds of one-of-a-kind show trucks and cars filled the massive parking lot the weekend of June 2nd and 3rd.

“The Texas Showdown always brings out a huge number of enthusiasts wanting to show off their rides. This year the total number of competitors approached 600. Spectators had a chance to see some of the best show vehicles in Texas and the surrounding states. This year’s burnout contest was one of the wildest ever. To that end a lady competitor was one of the big winners” Bill Elsey stated to 12voltnews.com.

Jim Wehling (R) of the Epsilon group along with Jimmy Bradfield Marketing Professionals show SoundStream and PPI products in the booth..

Local artists on the big stage, plus free stuff from the MC, kept the audience engaged. Memphis Car Audio, Sony plus Power Acoustik and PPI, headlined the 12volt companies on site.

“Events like the Texas Showdown keep consumers, and competitors, excited about adding gear to their vehicles. Memphis Car Audio has always been a big supporter of consumer events – its good for our dealers and the 12volt industry as a whole” John Linn told 12voltnews.com.

Its a Tony sandwich! Tony Hynh sandwiched between two gorgeous models in the Sony Mobile booth.

Tony Hynh, on site representing Sony and Eagle Distributors, commented “Sony has a lot of cool new products designed to interface smartphones into in-vehicle entertainment. An event like the Texas Showdown gives us an opportunity so demonstrate Sony’s new MirrorLink technology – your smartphone screen info displayed on the face of the headunit.”

That car can't get much higher than that.

“The Epsilon brands of Power Acoustik and PPI were draws for spectators in Houston. Our VR-931NB with a 9.3 screen gets jaw dropping looks every time a consumers sees it for the first time” Jim Wehling commented to 12voltnews.com.
