Eagle Distributors with Sony at Bass Pro Shops

KENNER, LA (02.27.12) – Eagle Distributors’ Barry Beller is all about promoting and sell through at retail. The initiate he created with Oakley is a prime example.

“Cross-promoting is an avenue for non-competitive brands, marketing to a similar demographic, can deliver their messages across a broader audience. What we are doing with Sony Mobile and Oakley, primarily known for sunglasses, is a real world scenario” Beller told 12voltnews.com in the parking lot of the BassPro Shop on Thursday afternoon, February 23rd.

Beller was in Shreveport, along with a huge contingent from Oakley, for the 2012 Bass Master Classic. This fishing tournament on the Red River drew over 130,000 fishing enthusiasts to various venues in Shreveport over the weekend of February 24th-26th.

“Within the first couple hours on Saturday I talked with over 100 people about the Sony DNX receivers. Over the course of the 3 days in the BassPro Shop parking lot I know well over 1,000 were exposed to Sony Mobile. Many I spoke with were very interested in in-vehicle connectivity and infotainment” Beller stated.

Sony Mobile is showcased in a full blown, rockin’ system in Beller’s “Daily Driver,” a Scion tC. The possibilities of Sony Marine were shown outside the Oakley Big Bass Tour “Home on Wheels.” Inside the spectacular rig a Sony double DIN headunit, speakers and amps along with a KVH satellite antenna, supply the entertainment.

Conroe, TX based Lakeside Audio put their unique touch on Bellar’s Scion tC and the Oakley rig.

Through Eagle Distributors Sony Mobile and Oakley partnered with a sunglasses and fishing rod promotion for their dealers. A Sony Mobile package, featuring a CDX-GT40UCD and XSMP1620W plus a Metra marine cover, was offered with a pair of Oakley “Bottle Rocket” sunglasses or a 6′ 6″ Oakley Quantum fishing rod at a super price.

“The package featuring the Oakley sunglasses and fishing rod was very well received by many of our dealers in the territory. It was different and represented a lot of value,” Beller concluded.

The Oakley “Big Bass Tour” was a highlight during the weekend’s promotion at the Bass Pro Shop.
