KENWOOD LAUNCHES 2011 CONSUMER REBATE PROGRAM

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH GARMIN

Long Beach, CA (05.02.11) – Kenwood USA Corporation announces the launch of a consumer mail-in rebate program with GPS-navigation industry leader Garmin.  The rebate program targets specific Kenwood in-dash audio/video models with built-in navigation technology supplied by Garmin.

Dave Hoag, Vice President of Sales for the Consumer Electronics Sector of Kenwood USA, said “Retailers across the country have benefitted greatly from the sales of in-dash navigation products through increased ASP (Average Selling Price) and more profit dollars.  Kenwood has led the charge over the past few years and we are partnering again with Garmin in delivering a proven rebate program that is sure to drive consumers to authorized Kenwood dealers.”

The mail-in rebate program begins May 1 and ends July 31, placing the promotion in the middle of the busiest retail period of the car audio selling season in most areas of the country.  Rebate amounts range from $100 to $300 depending on the specific Kenwood model.

Participating Kenwood dealers will receive a merchandising kit containing in-store materials such as a countertop display containing rebate coupons, product “danglers” that are attached directly to the qualifying product, a mobile that hangs from the ceiling, and a full-size poster announcing the promotion details.  Kenwood also offers banner ads for online promotion and a web-link to a dedicated section of the Kenwood USA website for consumers to download rebate coupons.  Dealers can craft their own advertisements for the promotion by downloading merchandising images from the Kenwood Direct Marketing website.  New for 2011 is the inclusion of a QR-code on all printed materials and advertisements that allow consumers to learn more about the Kenwood navigation products by scanning the QR-code and accessing a dedicated portion of the Kenwood USA website that contains instructional video clips, detailed technical specifications and features.

“This year’s consumer rebate program delivers a significant incentive, designed to ease the step from a bare bones in-dash model, or portable GPS unit or even a Smartphone application, into a full featured premium navigation/entertainment system,” said Hoag.   “Over the years, the pairing of Kenwood and Garmin has proven to be an unbeatable combination and this year’s rebate program delivers unbeatable savings, making the step-to-the-best a little easier.”
