Pflugerville, TX (June 1, 2010) – It feels like summertime – and it’s time for the HeatWave “Feel the Heat Tour 2010 to” turn up the heat”!! June 19th and 20th it’s the Texas Showdown in Houston, TX.

David MacDonald, Bill Elsey and the HeatWave team are ready. MacDonald relayed to 12voltnews.com “The Houston stop on our 2010 tour is really shaping up. This is the second largest event on the Feel the Heat Tour – behind Austin and gaining. We anticipate a crowd approaching 15,000 at the Sam Houston Race Track. In ’09 we had 750 entries in the Custom Truck and Car Show. This year we are tracking at 800 plus entries”

2010 will mark the 3rd year the Texas ShowDown has been under MacDonald’s HeatWave umbrella. When MacDonald acquired the truck and car show entries approached 400. The increase to this year’s anticipated entry count, in today’s show environment, represents tremendous growth.

MacDonald continued “We really work hard to produce an exciting show for spectators and a strong return for our exhibitors’ investment”. This statement by MacDonald was made to 12voltnews.com on May 27th as he was in Houston checking on his street team’s work progress and making sure promo materials were in the O’Reilly Auto Parts stores in the Houston market. As an event sponsor the 220 O’Reilly stores in the region sell discount tickets to the Texas ShowDown, distribute show fliers and have event posters visible in the stores.

The street teams also place fliers and posters in a variety of retail businesses in the Houston area. 35,000 fliers and 1000 posters were prepared to promote the 2010 Texas ShowDown event.

The Texas ShowDown event will feature burnout contests, a large vendor expo, USACi Sound Off and of course a Texas-sized bikini contest.

12volt industry companies participating include memphis Car Audio, Crossfire, Kicker and Sony with Eagle Distributors. Valley retailer M&M Audio sees the “light of opportunity” and has a presence at numerous HeatWave Tour events.

The temperature and humidity will soar in Houston in mid-June. Drink lots of liquid for a few days before hitting the Texas Showdown 2010 event.
