“The Digz” Omaha, NE (May 7, 2010) – A little over 6 years ago Randy Strunk, a veteran independent manufacturer representative, suggested to mobile electronics retailers in Omaha to join together to raise consumer awareness of mobile electronics in the area. Needless to say the initial reaction from the retailers was a high degree of skepticism.

After several meetings a deal was hammered out among four area retailers-Stereo West Autotoys, Inphase Car Audio, Metro Audio Dynamics and Nebraska Furniture Mart’s Mobile Audio Entertainment division. Strunk’s firm, Creative Sales and Marketing, was and remains a driving force as the group readies for the 6th anniversary of the Omaha Extreme Car and Truck Show on the weekend of May 15th and 16th.

During a recent conversation Strunk told 12voltnews.com, “Last year the attendance was nearly 5000. This year we started promotional activities even earlier and we feel the crowds could easily surpass 5000. As a group we are thrilled to see the growth this event has experienced over the past few years.”

"We are all amazed and so happy how this joint effort was grown over the years. It's great for the 12volt business in Omaha and the surrounding area". Randy Strunk pictured at last years event.

Dave Eary -In Phase Audio- told 12voltnews.com “The 12volt business is strong in Omaha and we at inPhase credit this event as a major contributing factor.  We have been busy leading up to the event and anticipate very heavy store traffic after the event. We have a very attractive discount coupon offer to drive consumers to our store after the event. The coupon is printed in English on one side and Spanish on the other side”.

Make A Wish foundation will be a major focus point of the event this year.  Several vendors are teaming up along with area retailers to give away thousands of dollars in door prizes both days to send Alonte and his family to “LEGOland” to complete his wish!  The goal is to collect $7500 in donations to make this wish happen.  The attitude of the retailers has been amazing as they see the possibilities to give back to their community in a special way other than just through a normal store promotion.

In addition to the Car and Truck Show, USACi Sound Off event and world class demo vehicles from leading manufacturers like JBL, Orion, Kicker, Rockford Fosgate, JL Audio, MTX, JVC and Pioneer; a volleyball tournament and a wakeboard demonstration and the Big Dogs Choppers Display will certainly build attendance.

Wake ‘n’ Skateboard House will construct a 25′ x 100′ pool on site. Wakeboarding pros will perform tricks as a powerful winch pulls them through the pool. Wake ‘n’ Skateboard House’ Nick Schroeder told 12voltnews.com “We see this as a real opportunity to add excitement to the show and market our products.”

A ‘rockin’ concert will take place both days of the show in the afternoon. Featured will be the hottest young band out of the Midwest, “Cold Steel”. “These kids can lay it down, Trust me!”  says Jeff Budin of SMS Inc. relayed to 12voltnews.com.

Omaha’s local RC Car Club will host demonstrations and invites anyone to bring their RC car and run it on the fun course that will be set up in a portion of the parking lot at The Digz.

Many other supporting Vendors will be present like Red Bull and their vehicle, the U.S. Army with their H3 Hummer, Omaha Marine with a “Decked –Out“ boat to check out, Meguiar’s Car Care Products and much, much more!

Sponsoring vendors include TREO, Scytek, Skullcandy, Alpine, dB Research, Kenwood, MTX Audio, JL Audio, Kicker, JVC, Rockford Fosgate, Vizualogic, Viper, Pioneer, Audiovox, Orion and JBL.

A portion of the proceeds from the USACi car audio competition will be donated to charity! This year’s recipient again is the “Make a Wish” Foundation.

The event is ABSOLUTELY FREE to the public! This event will be fun for whole family! Lots of FREE goods, prizes and giveaways all day long both days! Show hours 9-5pm Saturday and 9-5pm on Sunday.
