TYLER, TX – Performance Audio hosted the First Annual Texas Summer Nationals at Harvey Hall in Tyler, TX on June 5th and 6th.
Monty Jones, owner of Performance Audio, went all out to make this inaugural event special.
Two halls in the complex were filled with vehicles and several vendor booths. The huge parking lot was the site of USACi, IASCA and dB Drag Racing lanes. CAN’s Ben Vollmer was on site to oversee the CAN competition.
Late Sunday afternoon a very tired Jones told 12voltnews.com “We had planned for a larger turnout of both SPL and SQ competitors. I think the spectator attendees got to see some cool products from our vendors and they certainly saw some cool, world class vehicles. There will definitely be talk around town about our show. When that turns into business it will make all the effort worthwhile.”
Eclipse, Crossfire and Vibe had a prominent presence on the show floor in the main hall. Mark Eldridge drew the most attention with the MSE presentation in his company’s loaded stock car racer.
Eldridge told 12voltnews.com “It’s always good to show the MSE vehicle to consumers at shows for visibility for our sponsors. At this show the caliber of judges was unbelievably strong.. It was super to have their input.” Everything turned out super for Eldridge as he took home all the “big iron” including Best of Show.
Marine Audio had a huge presence at the event. Audioformz was on site with a 29′ Cobalt that showcased their wake tower speaker systems. The power behind the system was provided by 8 Diamond Audio amps and 12″ suns. Ski-n-Sports showed a Ski NATIQUE that was loaded with 3 WetSounds speaker systems hanging from the wake tower. Phoenix Gold subs were driven by an OEM Clarion amp.
In an after the show follow-up all Jones said “The event went off with virtually no hitches. The concept of getting several organizations together at the same place and time really makes sense. We are already making plans for more multi organization shows. I really thank all the vendors and staff for their support. Scott Buwalda and Hybrid Technologies contributed so much in time and energy to support our event. Pete Daley, with Marketing Professionals, also jumped in and did so much with Crossfire. Ron Wiggins with Vibe and Will Parkinson with Eclipse and Focal added so much to the event.”
